Mmmmm...debt. It's unfortunately a part of things nowadays. There's always the option of separate bank accounts, you know. It doesn't mean you're being stingy or that you don't trust each other, but at the same time you know what's yours, you know what's his, and that includes debt. Go ahead and consolidate when you're all debt free, but until then it might keep things in perspective.
You made your debt, he made his. If i were in your situation I'd feel better about everyone paying off their own debt, then going forward together, debt-free.
