Just come back from a wonderful weekend - a wilderness survival and expedition medicine course, which had us learning how to A) fend in the wild, and B) be a team medic for expeditions and stuff. Also had a brilliant off-road driving bit of it which gave us the power of a big-fuckoff-landrover, which is fucking win. Managed to get meself a signed copy of the SAS Survival Guide, too - by a guy called Lofty Wiseman. Definately an inspirational character - interesting take on life, too. It's not the outside forces, it's not the freezing cold or the boiling heat or the bastards at your tail or the bullets that kill you, it's the giving up. Can't help thinking that's kinda poigniant.







The field we were camped out in also happened to be right next to the field that We Will Rock You were playing in, and so we ended the weekend with a badass firework display. Life is fucking awesome like that sometimes. Also managed to find myself a firefly and a group of bats, too. Beautiful creatures..




And then after my return from the wonderful "wilderness" of Hereford woods (where I actually ate better than I do normally - I mean, we had caviar for starters and chocolate fondu with melted maltesers in for dessert.. this is awesome), I managed to find my way back to London, then make the journey back home to Edinburgh, but not before having a quick stop-off at York and running into someone very awesome. StarDustBunny, I take my hat off for thee.. you're the perfect person to finish this fucking awesome week with =)
