Have you heard the solar wind blowing past Venus?

I have.

On Radio 4 this morning. It was one of the most otherworldly things Ive ever heard. It wasnt until I was sitting in the hygienists chair this afternoon having my teeth cleaned that I remembered, probably something about the whine of the polisher I suppose. But anyway, it was quite beautiful and scary and I want an mp3 of it.

As youve noticed, Im back! Hooray! (For me)

For this journal update I will be using spoiler tags, so you can read whatever bits you like. It makes it a hell of a lot easier for me to scroll down to see comments. Besides, I am getting so tired of seeing my boobs every time I do that. tongue
I've hidden them for those of a nervous disposition.

Was 2 weeks of isolation, the weather was generally rather lovely.


I was planning to :

♥ dance in the forest - to some extent, though it did make the dogs a little bit jumpy

♥ splash in the river no chance, not quite warm enough yet

♥ lie in the courtyard reading well, not in the courtyard, mostly in bed or on the balcony
or
in front of the rayburn or the fire but I read:
Milennium anthology, P Cornwell Trace, J Kellerman some rubbish, John Connolly The Killing Kind, The Dante Club, I Shudder at Your Touch anthology, D Wynne Jones Archers Goon, started Against a Dark Background again. Some comics also.
♥ walk the wolves at least twice a day yes! I was very good and took the little darlings out. Mocked them mercilessly for their total inability to catch anything, pheasants, rabbits, rodents etc all of which they chased in a clumsy and clueless manner.


♥ stoke the fires twice daily yes! And emptied the ash. Aaaargh. Most hated job of the fortnight.
♥ take baths to my hearts desire mmm and power showers. I miss their shower already.
♥ water the steed he drank lots.

♥ collect eggs aplenty oh yes

♥ climb trees well, a bit


♥ explore foreign parts not really, just tramped the usual paths, but I heard tales of big cats from our horse-breeder neighbours (they had 3 horses attacked last year) so I was a little bit wary. The woods can be dark and treacherous


♥ sleep till very very late once Id got up at 8.30,

fed chickens,


fed cows, emptied and filled rayburn,


opened polytunnels, that is, and tried to ignore excitable dogs barking at imaginary burglars

♥ play Final Fantasy 9 - well, played, but not finished, because disc 2 had a scratch. Anyone got a spare?

♥ watch Carnivale yes! And it was brilliant! biggrin And also Azumi, Masters of Horror: John Carpenter and Stuart Gordon, both were great. Lots of thank yous to my saviour from boredom
♥ read lots and lots see above
♥ try to write as much as possible had a few ideas, wrote a little. Got something kicking around I might unleash on you soon.
♥ eat eggy in a fucking basket every single day for breakfast not every day, but:



Not bad, surprisingly.

So that was most of Devon. I also took some pictures of my kitty cats.

So with the help of a few bottles of wine, letters and phonecalls, I survived. Phew.

But I missed you lot. I feel like Ive been away forever. Whats been going on while Ive been away? :o

This week will be busy annoying, and then busy and fun. Bank holiday weekends are the best. Ive got dentist visits and sorting out finances (need to get some bar work starting next week) and annoying work
for now, and then a guest to entertain from Thursday till Monday, yay! biggrin

Unfortunately this little game, Animal Crossing has had me absorbed, so reading was second place.

Its a totally relaxing game though, no blood. instead you manage this little town, you design the interior of your own hose, send letters and presents to neighbours, fish, grow plants, or trees, dig for fossils, fashion design, see a gig and drink coffee smile

So four days of that and nice walks.

heaven.
