my grandma died. i feel bad for my dad. death surrounds my family. strange though, i rarely feel bad about the deceased actually being gone. I just feel incredibly bad for the people still alive who mourn. very strange. very strange indeed.

you're right though--it's the people who are left behind who suffer. many times i've felt relief for the person who died--especially if they were suffering.
