Very off kilter day.
I woke up for work an hour late. My alarm didn't go off but when i checked it later it was set just fine.
When i got to work i found out a co worker passed away in an auto accident. he lost control of his car, slammed into a barrier, and flew through his windsheild. No word on if he was drinking or not.
I didn't know the kid amazingly well. Said hi to him a few times. He was more of a friend of a friend.
It's been a while since anyone i knew died.
we're recording again tomorrow. Son really good things have been coming out of these demos. Keane laid down guitar of 2 new ones. I have the one guitar/ drums mix of one of the songs playing in my headphones right now, wondering what kinda structure i should come up for it.
It's an odd song for us, very pretty, 3/4, straight line (i.e. no chorus or verse), very melodic and clean sounding. Can't wait for Dave G to lay down his guitar and for ike to put down vocals.
I got my diploma yesterday. 4 years of working my ass off. Being broke, tired, exhausted, lcoked in a room to type papers, and all i have to show for it is a little rectangle of paper and a key chain with the U of M's logo on it.
