Saw two great Sonic Youth shows last nite. To my ears, they are the best rock band working on the planet, still. I was lucky to be able to see them again. There has never been a band that has put out such a large body of excellent work, and over such a long period, and maintained such high standards for both albums and performances. And they've been doing it for almost a quarter century.
My claim to fame from last nite was that Kim accidentally stepped on my hand. At least it appeared to be accidental. No matter. I've been trodden on by my idols. Surely this is an advanced stage of fandom.
