So I have gotten myself into a little bit of a situation, and I'm not quite sure how to get out of it.
About 2 months ago, I embarked on recording a 5-song ep for my friends and their band. We planned that we could get all the recording done in 2 days, do some quick mixing, and that's that.
Now, I just finished mixing and mastering the whole project.... after putting in about 50 hours of work, at least $50 on gas, and $15 worth of alcohol in Gary's belly to help him with his vocals (

So now I am trying to figure out how to get some compensation for all of my hard work and time that I have put into this project. If I were to charge my full rate, I would make $1250, if I were to discount it at what I do for friends, that would be $750. I'd be happy with $250 for all of this. That's a month of student loan payments.
I just don't know how to do this without coming off like an asshole.
