She makes less than $7,000 a year. With his retirement from two different jobs, he makes almost $40,000 a year. After I prodded her to double-check his story, she found out he had already asked several other people for the same amount with a different story each time, GOT the money and then didn't do what he said he needed it for.

I have never seen anyone cry so hard in my life. She was totally heartbroken. I'm not sure if there is anything I can do that will get her out of this depression.
