Ok I now remember what I hate about the food industry. I had forgotten why I got out of it but now I remember.
The pay is COMPLETE BULL SHIT.
So today I show up and they decide they want me to bus. Bussing here is not bussing elsewhere. You wanna take something from the kitchen to the dining area, you have to walk it up a flight of stairs. You got dirty dishes. Down the stairs. Eight hours on a stairmaster gets you.......5.50 an hour.
Fuck that! I havent been paid that much since I bussed at Newport Creamery when I was 14. Actually that was 6.25.
Oh and today apparently I don't get paid for today at all......because I was training. I knew more than the freaking servers no one trained me. And I don't even get a share of the tips! Hell no. I'm going back to bartending. Even tho I havent done it in a year and I forgot all the recipes.
The thing that makes it unacceptable is that my last job at Cingular Corporate I made 30k plus bonuses. And all I did was sit on my ass and wait for a customer to sell a phone to. On bad days I might have a customer yell at me.
But a grueling job like this of getting sweaty and spilling shit and being on your feet, you guys get paid less than half of what I make. Thats a load of crap.
Well back to job hunting tomorrow.
