So I didn't get that computer manager/technician job (I was second choice.) However, the owner was impressed with my Linux skill set and is hoping to hire me as the secondary technician in a few months after the new manager gets settled in.
This is just the latest (out of probably 30 or more) example of how I never seem to be able to get a job doing anything computer related on the first try. Add in my experiences at my university in the computer science department, the whole thing just seems impossible.
I feel like trying to work in computer repair or programming or trying to go back to school as a computer science student is an uphill battle. I never thought I'd say this, but it also seems easier to just go work in law enforcement!
I had given up on trying to work in law enforcement after I turned 30, but I've seen a few guys older than I do it, so maybe it's time to jump ship?
