If I were trying to survive the zombie apocalypse I would be making use of law enforcement tactical gear!
Specifically I would be wearing "SWAT" or more likely riot/crowd control gear (or maybe some combination of the two). Why? Simple: riot gear is padded, has a helmet with a full face shield, and the shield that you see police kneeling behind when being shot at/large objects thrown towards them can be used as a melee weapon. This would be my body gear of choice when dealing with zombies.
It's funny that in all of the zombie movies that I've watched, and I've seen most of 'em, I think I can only recall seeing riot gear used once (and I can't even remember what movie that was now...)

i was just telling my bf that the other day. riot gear indeed. i just got done reading the walking dead graphic novels and in a few chapters they used riot gear.
