technically, I think the Oratrix group calls themselves spoken word. But I've heard so many spoken word acts that say "I'm this, I'm that and I'm going to make you love/hate me," without ever saying anything about The World. Tara and those other gals didn't just tell us who they are, they told a few things about life, true things. Poetry readings in general are stuffy and pretentious. I'm not sure where the line is that divides the two forms. I've done both to some extent.
