Saw The Village with Steven and Christina. It really wasn't as good as I expected it to be. It kind of reminded me of the old low-budget films I'd watch religiously on the Independent Film Channel, only the plot was a lot weaker.
I wouldn't recommend it. The basic outline of the story is something that I haven't heard tons of times before.
Got to see five or six good boxing matches at the new Glendale Arena last night for free with Steven. He made the observation that in every one of the bouts there was at least one Mexican guy. DAMN STRAIGHT! Us Mexicans can hold our own mothafucka!
Most of the fights were pretty good. A few were very one sided and got called off before the end of the second round. I didnt realize just what a spectacle it was for a lot of people. Of course Steven didnt like the rules and structure of boxing. Coming from a street fighter, the comment was at all surprising.
Steven gave me one of his old books wrapped in a poster from his wall and printed out bass tablature:
The Simpsons and Philosophy
Oh yes.
