Alright, so it's been over a week. A pretty up and down one at that. Got to spend the day in Moncton with Patty and friends before the Rollins show. A really nice day and we just walked around all afternoon. Picked up a Beavis & Butthead lunch box and a first edition of Millencolin's "Tiny Tunes." $8 for an album that was pulled due to the band being threatened to be sued out of existence. A small price to pay to have a bit of punk history. Patty had her first Margarita at supper, I think the people at Mexicali Rosa's created a monster. The show was great with the small exception that the merch was sorely lacking. No books, no CDs, just one DVD to buy and t-shirts no larger than a small. The show itself was awesome. 3 hours flew right by for me (for Patty not so much) but we got to meet Henry after the show, got some autographs and pics with the man. I got him to sign my copy of "Hot Animal Machine" and Patty got him to sign a copy of "Henry & Glen Forever." The picture of him and Patty was taken right at the moment he read the comic she'd asked him to sign. This one right here:

If she thought it was cute, I thought it hilarious, it looks like Henry thought it was off-putting,

Oh well, I got my pic with him and I can compare it to the one I had taken in 2010. Smaller, but still a ways to go. =D

The down part of the week was going back to the grind after spending an awesome day in Moncton and seeing Rollins. Right back to the cubicle. It's not that the people I work with are bad, it's just really suburban and boring. People who think the most mundane things are the height of comedy and make references to pop culture from 5 or 10 years ago like it's current and they're the hippest folks around. Someone actually made a C & C Music Factory reference the other day like they were still toppin' the charts. Maybe I'm being a jaded dink, but it can wear you down. It reminds me of high school a lot, actually. I'm sure anyone who's done time in a call centre can relate.

On an up note our friends had a new baby boy. Funny to think of them as parents, but they have a great support base between friends and family so they'll do great. Named him Dexter, so in a tradition of giving newborns their first counter culture item, I'll be buying him his first Offspring CD... or maybe actual vinyl record.

Wrapped up the whole weekend by just kind of hiding out and relaxing with Patty. Enjoying not having any real responsibilities to answer to for the first time in over a month.
