To answer your comment from a long time ago (better now than never ey!) Paris is still a bit rubbish in respects of "alternativ" dresscodes and body mods. I used to get people insulting me in the metro because of my lipring which is a bit shit.
It's home though and I will always love Paris for all the other cool stuff!
As for the flatmates, it's going okay for the moment though they're being a bit sloppy for the dishes...
