I had never gotten that close to the cabin because there were always people in or near it.
Built in 1933, it is only just now getting some restoration done to it.

They just work so hard! We've saved 4 in the last 2 days from the pouring rain, taken them inside to get them warm and dry before letting them buzz off. Beautiful photos as usual x

Thank you, there might be a few more later. Finding them in the morning while they're sleeping is the best. Sometimes they'll crawl onto my hand to warm up and take off later.

For some reason I decided it was a good idea to go for a hike after work in the smoke along the river. Yeah, not the best idea. 8-21-15
The wildfires going in Washington have really made it unreal this evening. With a brown cast to everything and the sun almost blocked out, things are rather eerie.

Today's adventure in the forest was spent mostly taking pictures of myself, thinking about those that couldn't be there. 8-12-15
I snuck up on some people jumping into the creek and hacking on logs while out at Settlerās Grove today. They might have freaked out about seeing me because shortly after that they raced back to their vehicle and left long before I made it back to my car.
Made an attempt to watch the meteor shower this morning. That didn't work out very well so I ended up at the gardens. 8-11-15
I decided this morning to go out to Mt Spokane after work. It turned out to be 20 degrees cooler at the summit than in town and I'm kicking myself for not going camping there earlier.
