"I'm so ronery..."

Went out to the desert this weekend. Ocotillo. I'm definitely feeling sore.

My step-dad and I were sitting in front of the campfire...stars twinkling overhead, flames lapping at the cool breeze...

"Holy shit there's a snake," he said, or something to that effect.

I looked to where he was pointing, near the fire. It looked like a piece of trash rolling along the ground. It was a fucking sidewinder. A baby one, at that (they're more venomous).

It came straight towards me. I stood up in my chair.

I love snakes, but, like most people, I don't like things that can cause me bodily harm.

We managed to scoot it away.

Riding was great this weekend. Rough from all the rain, but fun.


Seems I'll be taking care of my brother until July. He's fed up with his father and needs out.

Also, my friends and I went out and had fun Friday night. My friend Grant left for Iraq on Saturday. He's out there right now. I'm terrified.
