They turned the christmas lights on in my town already!!

Apparently they think it will bring in more people to spend more money. I love christmas and always have but fucking hell it really does start earlier every year. This is why i don't do any present buying or anything until the first week in dec. I think thats more than early enough and at least by then i can start to feel christmassy without it being 3 months in advance. Please.. it's two bloody days people, you do not need to shop for a siege ok.

Anyway, today we sat around drinking bucks fizz and eating cream cakes smile This is the kind of thing i like getting paid for.

And talking of cakes... my candy shoes came today. And yes they are every bit as beautiful as i thought they would be smile pics will follow...

yeah..commercialism sucks!..i's not even thanksgiving yet here (which is an even more horrendous thing to celebrate..ie:the slaughter of innocents) which is why i don't partake in the bullshit..i like to give people gifts throughout the year , when they don't expect it ..they know not to expect a "fake" gift and are generally happier..good luck with that

Now, me, I like Christmas and all of the silly trimmings. There has to be some season when we dress up this drab world, hide its ugliness, and think of hopes for a better humankind. We can complain about some of the hypocrisy the season fosters, but we have that year round. Christmas isn't special on that account. Working in retail, as I do, can make a person jaded and cynical, but somehow these can be overcome. Carpe diem! You only live once. Don't be miserable! Have fun and share the wealth!

I do agree, however, that it does degrade the season when they start pushing it earlier and earlier each year. Greed, I suppose. But for us poor grunts, it's a paycheck.
