So I call PG&E today to get the utilities transfered over to my old roomie, and as I'm navigating their painfully inefficient phone system, I get a quicky account rundown. Pretty uninteresting until I hear this;

"....and your current outstanding balance is $254.57..."

....

WTF?!??!?

"Would you like to speak to an agent"
"Hell yes"
"Hello, thank you for calling PG&E, how may I help you today?"
"Hi, I think we have a serious problem, you've got my bill listed at nearly 4 times what we usually pay"
"Well sir, it is summer and with air condi...."
"hold on, no, we do NOT run it enough for this, fuck, I'm moved out, the loss of my computer alone should easily make up for it even if we were running it that much"
"well sir thats the cost based on...."
"wait, hold on a sec..."

I run outside and jot down the meter reading

"ok, what do you guys have as the end meter reading for this bill?"
"let me check, yes, your end reading was 3087"
"no it wasn't"
"excuse me?"
"BECAUSE IT'S ONLY 2099 NOW, you suggesting we used over 1,000 kw/h in a couple of days?"
"...... one moment sir"
"yeah, take your time"
"are you sure sir?"
"abso-fucking-lutely"
"alright sir, we're adjusting you bill based on the new reading, your new total is...... $37.50"
"thats more like it"

Fuck, who the hell are they hiring to check these things? I about shit myself when they gave me the original price.
