I wouldn't worry too much about the war on porn. It's a temporary political move. These rights always ebb and flow. Generally, the flow ends up outweighing the ebb, as otherwise there would be no progress.
I could prattle on for a long time, as I'm studying obscenity and indecency law (two different things!) as it applies to the first amendment right now.
