I quit my job this morning. Just up and left.
It was totally unprofessional, but then, so was the company. I had to work 4 nights a week and weekends when the rule was that every member of management had to have at least 2 closing shifts a week (not including weekends) and there were 5 people on the management team including me.
I got written up for not doing bag checks, which I always did, and for letting a part-timer cash me out (no one told me that was not allowed). My boss (a single mother of 3) was so immature she did not tell people when they did not get a promotion against another employee, she just waited for them to find out when new people came on staff (like when I was introduced as the new shift leader to people who had wanted my job), and the one male employee was a misogynist.
On top of that, co-workers were shit talking me behind my back on a regular basis.
But I digress, I spent about 2 hours handing out resumes to every store within walking distance of the house, and am going to apply to some places online. I had an interview at HMV yesterday and the gal I'm seeing worked at the same location, so she said she would call them up and put in a good word for me. Wish me luck, because I have one more paycheck coming and I can't let the cash flow stop or I am f'd in the a!!
In lighter news, I have a date tomorrow night with my lady friend. We don't really have a plan so I'm thinking urban exploring, maybe hit up some cemetaries (it is the night before Halloween) and be cold/scared so I can have an excuse to hold her close

I too just recently quit my job the same way you did but for other reasons. I was working on the military estabilment here in Abilene and was cooking for the lunch line. I was demoted to dishwasher because i refused to taste the food I was serving. We serve these brave men & women foor I wouldnKt even feed my dog. So when i had enough of everyone bitching at me for doing things I was told to do... I just walked out.
