Interesting encounter today...
I'm part of an e-mail group called Freecycle Kalamazoo (free and recylcle- get it?) where we post stuff that we want to give away and people post back saying they want stuff.
So I posted that I had a ton of beads and jewelry stuff because I haven't used it in quite sometime.
A TON of people replied, but I wrote back to the first response and I dropped the stuff off today.
Come to find out, the stuff was for this woman's seven year old daughter (whom I got to meet). Her husband (whom I also met) had broken his leg at work, gone through three surgeries since December and since got a staph infection. Obviously he hadn't worked since December.
On top of all that, the woman had been diagnosed with colon cancer in March.
All of this was obviously upsetting to learn, but I was so happy to be making their day at least a little brighter. The little girl was so happy to see the stuff, and the woman told me it was impossible for them to buy her stuff lately.
So it made me feel a bit better about my life
