so the grad dinner thing i went to was fantastic: a bunch of nerdy people who love glasses all together in one room.
i went with Lorna, the manager from the store i work with, and she's on the opticians board of manitoba, so i got introduced to all the 'important' people. we went a bit early and had some Newman's Port in a fancy hotel room at the Fort Garry with an old friend of Lorna's, who was there as a guest speaker.
There was a ridiculous amount of food, i had this four cheese spinach lasagana and it was amazing and such a huge portion. i wish i could've taken home the leftovers. we were also served soup and salad and the dessert was this amazing raspberry torte. the actual speeches part was pretty short and entertaining. and i got to take home one of the centerpieces which were these huge vases of bird of paradise flowers. i love it.

in other news, i came home to find an email from my mom with the subject line "how r u"....i officially think shes been spending too much time on msn.
