well, really it's funny she mentioned that thing about that guy i knew who took the bottle of pills with his booze. he was a hurt soul, misunderstood by many but mostly himself. i can't say he was much of a friend but we did share understood pleasantries. i threw life savers a few times but the ocean is vast and hard to predict in the middle of night. The last thing i saw the kid do was break into an uneasy smile and dream for one second before the next of life's punches landed.
I want to think i saw or felt the trouble in his eyes but i'd be mistaken. he leaves behind a very young and pregnant wife who might just be hurting. what more can i say? just i went to war with the man. we often shared laughs outside smoking. and once when a camel spider was chasing me with its creepy legs in the air he stomped on for me cause he had on boots and i was in sandals.
i like to think he wasn't all that sure and had a bit of hope maybe someone would find his desperation thus the passivity of the pills. hopefully he finds some well deserved peace.
