Dear God.. I am in shock and continue to hemorrhage money.

My car insurance payment was supposed to be paid through direct deposit from my bank, but something went wrong last month and the bank refused to pay even though I had more than enough money in my account to cover it.

So my insurance company sent me a letter saying they were cancelling coverage if I didn't pay by the end of the month.. oy vey. I also just changed my address from the base to Laurel, so my premium went up.

I had to pay $450 to cover last month and to restart the policy for this month. Jesus.. that's almost $500 for 2 months insurance coverage. And I'll be getting next month's bill for $200 on the 16th..

I can't wait till I pay my car loan off. Then I can switch from full-coverage to liability only and pay half the amount I'm paying now. I only have $2000 left to pay on the car, so if I can live on an EXTREMELY tight budget, I should still have it paid off by December as planned.

I just re-did my budget, and somehow I have more moeny than I thought I did. If Scott pays me back my $400 on July 1st like he says he will, I should be ok.

Looking at my budget, I would have a LOT more money if I stopped buying a plane ticket every month. It just dawned on me that it is probably not normal to fly out of state once a month just because I want to. I've been spending at least $300 a month on travel.. so I have to stick to my plan to save up leave and wait till I can take at least 2 weeks instead of this ridiculous "I have 3 days off so I'll fly to South Carolina" business.

I'm going to tight for money till at least August, but I have to remember that this is self-imposed. I WILL NOT be one of those people who consistently spend more than they earn and use a credit card for everything.

It was funny, I spent like 30 minutes on the phone with my car insurance lady, and she kept telling me how proud she is that I'm limiting my credit card use and trying to pay my car off early. She thought it was cool that I bought a used granny car instead of the car I wanted so that I could save money for other things. She even gave me her direct line number and told me to call her next time I need to get something done with USAA.

I wish work was over. I'm going out to the house in Crofton to start loading my stuff into the car tonight, that way when I go pick up my key for the new apartment tomorrow, I can start moving in immediately.


Being an adult is frustrating. I could have stayed home and lived with my mom, kept driving my dad's cars, gone to Angelo State and gotten that manager job at Hat World.. it would have been a lot easier. But I would have felt like complete scum. I hate people who live off their parents after high school.
