I forced myself to attend a welcome home party with my dad's friends this afternoon. They get mad that I don't ever call them when we're 'like family', so periodically I go out to do things with them. The party was ok, but I felt awkward. I don't like socializing in big groups, especially not big groups of people I don't know.

I even drove to the party in the rain, which is a big deal for me. Driving in Maryland scares the shit out of me, so it was a big step for me to drive on the freeway in the rain to somewhere I haven't been before.

A girl I don't particularly care for asked me if I'm bisexual today.. I was kind of in shock, because that's not the kind of thing you ask someone you don't know that well. Especially since I was being nice and helping her with directions she needed. I don't think she meant to offend me, but it did. It struck me as rude to ask something personal of someone who is merely making a point to be nice to you.

I never did answer her question.. oops.

There was a new lady working in the galley serving lione tonight. She was asian, with pretty hair tied back with a flower hairtie.. I said "Your hair is pretty, I really like the flowers." She beamed at me and said how pretty my hair is too, then insisted on giving me extra food and bagging everything for me. It was sweet. American girls aren't like that.

I'd better go to bed.. I'm having breakfast with Jon and his dad tomorrow. I haven't met his dad before, so we'll see how this goes..
