So did you vote or what? I voted for the green party but I ended up with Bush. In this country majority rules so I think we should support the guy the most of us wanted. After all, United We Stand....
The protests are pretty new as far as the war goes. We (our govenment - even before Bush) have been gearing up for this war for over 10 years. G.W. Jr. didn't just roll out of bed and decide to invade Iraq. The whole point is that Saddam didn't leave like he promisde he would after the Gulf War. Now I don't like the idea of Americans, or anyone else, dying in a war either. I do think the US is doing the right thing. I think we are going to save far more people than we will hurt. I know you prolly know this already but the US has spent the 10 years since the Gulf War trying to talk Saddam out of Iraq. They were trying to talk him out before the Gulf War too.
There just comes a point when one can no longer stand by and watch. A time comes when one must act to help those that can't help themselves.
If not for all my heart surgery as a kid I would have been a Marine just like my Dad was. As a kid it was all I wanted to do and I was devistated when they flatly told me, "No".
Wow, this is really sounding preachy... Sorry about that. The war is moving me in much the same way 9-11 did. It's scarry and worries me to no end, but at the same time I'm charged up with patriotism and more than ever I'm proud of where I'm from.
Don't like the war if you don't want to, but wear a flag. Someone somewhere is risking their life so that we can live ours.
