So wow, yeah, been a while.
Firstly, after over a year hiatus, I finally shook off some of the "ring rust" and got some pretty good shots out of it!
Secondly, today I got fitted for my very special "sling" (it's more like an immobilizer) for after surgery on the 25th. SURGERY!?!?! You say? Yes, I am having surgery to finally repair my damn right shoulder. I have dislocated the damn thing 10 times in 7 years and I have just about had enough of that! They did an MRI a few weeks ago and found that I had torn my labrum and am missing a touch of cartilage. @skidtography still has the distinction of being the only friend to put my arm back in place, well really the only person that wasn't an ER or my body just giving up and putting it back in on its own.
Things are going pretty well here at the house where monsters dwell (we lovingly call our home Midian). If you're following my shenanigans (they really aren't that interesting) on instagram, you may have seen that Corey and I flew to Virginia, did some...errands...and drove us a 16' box truck back across the country to home. It was quite the adventure and a really nice time.
This weekend we go back the family cabin up north of Bellingham with the whole slew of in-laws, including my new baby (okay lie...6 months old) niece! That's right, I'm a friggin aunt! I'm hoping it will be as relaxing as it has been in years past, but...I'm not holding my breath with all the circumstances around this particular trip. Then it's surgery and 6 weeks of looking pitiful in my fancy new sling.
