Spring is trying

and so am I. I've been fluttering around the house trying to declutter, clean and organize. Opening the windows and blinds and seeing the dust and furbabies' spring shedding drifting through the air has really geared me into cleaning mode. I don't have much else to do, since I've been searching for a job (I seem to have landed a part-time one, and really, you can only put in so many applications).

We did our taxes and I kind of got screwed by my last job not taking enough out, but at least we got a little back and didn't end up owing, but that kind of squashed all my renovation dreams. The stairs need to be rebuilt, the carpet needs to be torn out and the floor beneath dealt with, and we have dreams of fixing up the bathrooms, but we will have to figure that out in time. The projects never end with a 107 year old house. Corey was able to sell his truck and his parents' extra vehicle (for them) and use that to buy his childhood dream car (that ISN'T a super car), a Jeep Wrangler. It's my turn for my dream car! Anyone wan to give me a 60's hearse?

Facebook reminded me today that 3 years ago, my first set shot with @skidtography went into Member Review. "The Dreaming"

That day was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Skid has put up with some of the weirdest stuff from me, his family welcomed me into their lives (he sent me the cutest message after his oldest son said something that just brought me to tears), he's even put my shoulder back in place and helped me brush tiny bones off my bare bum. And to think, it all started with my idea to shoot in my favorite Seattle comic book store.

I was back in Seattle, working with my dad's company a couple weeks ago, and had a lot of spare time (the contractors wouldn't let us work after certain hours, and there was a power shut down one of the days) so I had the chance to go back up to the Dreaming, and feel at home again. I truly miss the friends that I moved away from, but they always treat me so well, when I'm back.

Now that it's spring(ish) here (36 degrees and sunny, counts right?) I've really been focusing on making myself happy, with myself. Started dressing like I want to more (now that I haven't had to wear a work uniform), and getting comfortable in my own skin. It will always be a rollercoaster, always has been for me, but it's a work in progress and the motivation really helps my mood.

I can't promise I will be more active ( I can try, I really just come on to check my messages anymore, and the only consistency there is from the awesome @nerdmachine ) but I hope to have my photos and adventures to share with you, now that I'm coming out of hibernation

Just seeing this now. 😐 But it is good to have you here, you've had some ups and downs but hopefully you've come through it all stronger. Glad you have formed meaningful relationships through your involvement here;  I wouldn't have met you if not for SG. So keep on keeping on, it's been wonderful and I am so happy that you and your husband took part in our art exhibit.  You will achieve your dreams with patience and hard work. Much love!😃

Jobs are weird things; how you just fall into them sometimes. Me, for example. I helped a friend out for an evening. I'm still doing the same job, 25 years later. 😘😘😘
