I finally have stuff to blog about!
2 weeks ago, we got to go to the family cabin and enjoy a long weekend away. Now that we are on the other side of the state, it was a much longer drive, but we took a beautiful highway there and back, taking our time. It took us about 8 hours each way, so we took turns driving, blasting music and keeping track of the wildlife we saw on the way. We also ended up going through some of the towns that had been devastated by the recent forest fires and that was a bit rough to see. Being at the cabin was amazing. 3 of the people who were supposed to join us were unable to make it, but we still had a bunch of fun! I love seeing Corey's cousin Jessica and she is always so awesome to be around. We spent our days on and in the water and our nights drinking and playing games.
Why yes..I did catch and cook my own crawfish! I think I counted 16 in total! My sister in law's dog always comes with and she loves swimming so much! I found a beer by an awesome name and laughed a little too hard over it. Corey took the photo of the PBR to tease his cousin Jason about not being able to come. We came home a day earlier than we had originally planned, we had a lot to think about and deal with, and we needed the rest since we both had to work early on Tuesday. Yes...we needed to rest....after our restful weekend away.
So big things....We are deeper into the process of buying a house. I'm so in love with this house, even if it has some minor issues, and the seller is being a bit of a twat. I'm so ready to have our own space again and have my furry babies back. It's been very nice staying with my cousins, but they want their whole house back and it's been too long since we've had our own space. I can't thank them and my in-laws enough though, it's helped a lot.
We've both been working a lot, saving what we can and paying all of our bills. There's a family trip in October we are trying to save for, and we are going to need some new things for the house....gotta find some extra ways to make more money!
I mentioned last time (I think) that @skidtography and I have been working on and publishing our very own art magazine! Well issue 2 has now been published and we had the amazing Steampunk Queen Kato for our cover and featured model! It also features an exclusive ongoing comic by @nerdmachine and some other amazing art and models, and an awesome article and proofreading by my favoritest @remod66
