Happy first Monday of 2011
I hope the new year is treating you lovelies well so far. Today is my real first day to relax and do nothing since the holiday season began.
New Year's Eve day, I worked in the morning/afternoon. Corey and his cousin picked me up and we headed off to Seattle to spend my paycheck (I know I know...I should be saving, but I love spending money with his cousin!). On our way into Seattle, we saw this:
This is a major hotel in the downtown area...with a fire in one of the windows. I know it's a shitty picture, but all we had was our cellphones. We spent probably 3 hours on Broadway alone, shopping, dragging Corey around, trying on clothes, feeling pitiful once we got into those clothes and Jessica and I were being just generally, girly. It was so much fun! Sure this was our 3rd day shopping together, but goddamnit we have fun! And of course, we ate at Dick's and Corey just HAD to buy her a tshirt.Corey finally convinced us to check out and head home, where we mixed our drinks, stuffed our faced with pizza and set up our wii. Drunken wii is soooo fun. We played right through midnight then headed to bed.
New Year's day, we dressed up in our new skirts
and headed to Corey's grandparents' where the girls (Corey's mom Debbie, his grandma Lynne, his sister Rachel, his cousin Jessica and I) piled into one car and headed to a pretty fancy restaurant called the Palomino for lunch, then walked over to the 5th Ave for.....
I will say, I greatly prefer the Rocky Horror showings, but this was pretty fun. I hadn't seen the Sound Of Music in probably 10 years, and they had the lyrics on the screen. There was a costume contest before the show
and our host reminded me of the family guy episode where William Shatner was in liederhozen (I know I butchered the spelling..sorry)..and then there were the scenes in the movie that family guy had spoofed....oy.
After the singalong, Corey and I had to work, but got time and a half for working.
Yesterday, Corey went to help his dad at Highline School district's bus barn to make sure all of the school buses were in running order for school today. After that, they went golfing (no need to worry about water traps, they were all iced over). Debbie and I spent the day baking cookies (which I had to avoid eating too many of) and cleaning. I put Corey and I's new comforter and duvet up and put up Corey's new painting
Today, every thing is back to normal. Everyone is at work and it was just Molly (the dog) and I. I played some wii, went to visit my dad and Astrid, got my tentative work schedule for the next....2 weeks, then came back and took Molly for a walk.
The pond down by the powerlines is frozen over, so Molly trotted out there. I took a few cautious steps onto the ice, but didn't go much further
So..I know my blogs have really just been recaps of my days, so I have a special treat for you
I fucking love gummy bears!
This is part of a photoset I had done back in CA (actually, my profile picture is from the same shoot). I'm debating on whether or not to submit it. Part of the photos have been edited, part haven't. We'll see.
Goddamnit....I'm hungry.
Have a good week my lovelies. I'll be around a lot more now!
