I fear that I've been terrible with updates lately, I apologize.
Corey and I are finally getting a day to relax, well, part of a day. My father has us working pretty steadily, and so far we've celebrated the holidays 6 times (and one more to come). Yesterday alone we visited 3 houses and had full celebrations at each!
Besides the working (and due to the working), having a sprained shoulder has really limited my ability to update. I'm almost back to 100%, the muscles still ache a bit, especially if I overdo it with the movements, but I'm not wearing the sling anymore.
We've been doing a lot of running around, and we ended up doing a dry run to a dealership Corey had an interview at (and we're pretty sure he got the job at, since they had him do the UA and we know he's clean), and this dealership was next to the free wall Mel and I had gone to on Devil's night 2 years ago. Look at me all drugged up on pain meds!
I felt absolutely pitiful in that sling. Corey had to help me do so much, he's just amazing.
On Wednesday, we had a job with my dad in Beaverton, OR, and I had mainly just gone along for the ride, but ended up helping and getting some money. On the way home, we stopped at Voodoo Doughnuts, and ran into some frightening situations, but the doughnuts are just too hard to pass up
Corey's mom had also been quite sad that this would be the first time in 30 years that they hadn't put up Christmas lights (his dad just got too busy), but we couldn't let that happen, so Corey and I braved the rain/hail mix, wrapped the lights around me and strung them up for her.
It was necessary to wrap them around me because of the bad shoulder...yeah we'll go with that. I also decided to get into the spirit and decorated a gingerbread house. The poor thing is leaning, but I think I did pretty good for the amount of pain meds I was on and how hard it was to use my left hand. We like to make ridiculous faces
In the spirit of tradition, I was craving lutefisk this month, so Corey drove me around to about 5 QFC's in search for that gelatinous fish I adore so much. We finally found some, and I danced around the damn store. Mmmm fiiiish
It's in the freezer for now, because I have some ideas for it.
Onto Christmas day!
We woke up and had coffee while Corey's sister and grandparents arrived to open presents. Santa looooved Corey and I this year, we each had a plastic candy cane filled with mini bottles of baileys, Corey got a full sized bottle of 8 Seconds Whiskey and I got a bottle of Tattoo Rum
and our other goodies
I think the pets made out the best this year
But Corey and I didn't do so bad. Got a stack of books we really wanted
A wii from my parents, a new comforter and duvet set, a good number of gift cards...plus the awesomeness of his cousin coming into town in a few days and my best friend Redd being here (though I haven't gotten to see her yet...but I will damnit). Christmas Eve night, Corey and I were wrapping last minute presents that are more for when the cousin gets in, but drinking and falling over each other, it's quite hilarious, his mother offered to put faerie wings on him since I kept calling him the stocking fairy (she was sloshed too)...things got sloppy. We had to work Christmas night, which was a good excuse to leave my family (my dad and grandma are butting heads, and my awkward uncle was there...) plus with my dad's help it took a lot less time and we got paid the full time it usually takes, plus time and a half because of the holiday.
It's quite nice to be making money already!
If you feel the need to waste any money on a random person....feel free to send it my way! jk....well...maybe
feeling needy over here.
We have to take COrey's new (to him) iphone to the apple store today....this should be fun.
Hope everyone has been having a great holiday season, seeing friends and family. Here's to a new year SG....I promise I'll try harder!
