I had a wonderful visit with my parents (for the most part).
They left Washington on friday morning, had a couple days in San Francisco, touring Chinatown and Alcatraz. Sunday evening they arrived in Sacramento, and took me out to dinner at Chevy's on the river (Corey was at work). The food was great but the service was horrible...we waited for our food for almost an hour. After dinner we went and saw Corey at the theater then had frozen yogurt for dessert....nom!
Yesterday, I took my parents to the mall and then to BevMo so that my mother could continue pricing alcohol for her friends (it's a wonder to us Washingtonians that they sell alcohol in grocery stores and Walmart, not just state licensed liqour stores). Once Corey got home from school, we piled into my parents' car and drove to the Jelly Belly factory.
We weren't allowed to take pictures during the tour, but I took some before. They show you little history videos on the company and you get to watch the workers from above at different stations. You also get to try different flavored jelly bellys in different stages of the process.

Corey and my father under the sign...and other people

Photobomb much?

My momma

why yes, yes we did have to wear the paper hats through the entire tour

Instead of the "roaming gnome" my mom is taking pictures of a canvas bag from her medical company throughout their travels.

Corey took a picture of my mother taking a picture of us

My parents (who seem to be getting along a lot better since I've moved, or maybe they're hiding it?)

Corey and I got jelly belly flavored soda (french vanilla and green pear, respectably)
(edit): I forgot to mention that my mother tricked me into tasting one of the "Beanboozles" and it was the canned dog food one...how horrifying!
It was a lot of fun. My parents head on their way to Reno, Carson City and Virginia City, then they'll stop back through to see us on their way home, either Thursday or Friday. They're going to take back some of the stuff we won't be needing around the apartment in the last few months we will be here.
There was a bit of bickering between my parents, and a bit of frustration on my part. My father also made a comment about me wanting to get a mohawk that deeply hurt: " getting a mohawk will be the biggest mistake you could ever make". While I understand that he is worried about me getting a job (I'm almost ready to give up...it's been 8 months....and no luck), I also know what is going on in my own head, in my own life, and the depression I've been facing.
I'm desperate for a change. I'm tired of the same old reflection, the same old view. Maybe if they let me explain...they'd understand more.
Goddamn...I'm hungry. Hope everyone in SGland had a good weekend and has a good week ahead of them.
Oh and a big congratulations to my dear friend RemoD66 for the part he got in the Paper Wing Theater Company's production of REPO: The Genetic Opera. I will definitely be journeying out that way to see him again
