The death of art is self-satisfaction. The point at which we stop fighting against the contradictory ideas that rumble around inside our brains...we have lost all connection with that which is art. Art is a fight within oneself.
If you do not produce anatagonism within others, you will not move forward. Once you have produced some disorder, some amount of disequilibrum in everyone's headspace...then they will attack back...and further stimulate you to attack in turn. And over and over and over again.
This process of seemingly endless chaos is that which we call inspiration.
