The older I get, the more I realize that labels really don't matter.
People have been more able to accept me as I am as I've gotten into my twenties.
In my high school days, I had dyed hair and wore exclusively ratty t-shirts, chuckers, and jeans. I had overlong hair that I at least washed every day.
I didn't want to be in the mainstream so badly that I conformed to the alternative mainstream.
These days, I dress anyway I want to. Sometimes I dress like a GQ model, and sometimes I dress like "designer poor". But I always dress like me, and at least I'm not trying to be something I'm not.
Clothes don't really matter.
Minds and personalities matter.
I don't think it's possible for me to be anything or anyone I'm not. Other people have the capability of pretending...I can only pretend to be me.
