I am supremely sick today. This is either a virus, a medication side effect, or a result of being out in the sun to cut the lawn Friday afternoon, which may have caused a reaction, since two of my meds are very sun-sensitive. I feel nauseated and weak. After I finish this entry to my satisfaction, I will head directly to bed. Tonight is silent film night, but I may not be able to stay up that late.

I took yesterday to rest my body from the effects of the gym, since I was beginning to feel ill starting then. In typical fashion, I was going to force myself to work out today, but I showed up during the hours it was supposed to be open. The doors were locked and none of the lights were on. A very insufficiently worded note on the door mentioned that the lights were off but that they would be back on in an hour. Last night we had a late arriving storm with very high winds which knocked the power off at the house for three whole hours. The electricity must have been off there too. It is entirely possible that the note was meant only to inform people who were arriving late yesterday and not meant for us today. The gym is, as I recall, open almost 24 hours for every day of the week with the notable exception of Sunday.

At any rate, I saw no staff about, and came to the conclusion that the place would likely be closed all day today. Sick though I am, I lament the inconvenience. This is the first day I have missed working our for two days in a row in months.

Meeting today was lightly attended. Several Friends didn't show up until ten minutes into First Hour. As for Second Hour, which was Meeting for Business, itself frequently a very boring chore, surprisingly progressed very quickly and came off without a hitch. I updated the meeting's Facebook page with the latest scheduled activities the instant I got home and doing that expended about all the energy I have in reserve for today. The most interesting thing of note is that we're going to be visited by ten or so high-school aged Young Friends who attend a North Carolina, based Friends school in a couple weeks. I trust they will be just as well behaved as the ones who visited last week. It still blows my mind why anyone would pay $15,000 a year for their child's education, even a Quaker one.

E is out with friends after attending American University's commencement exercises as required for her job. This evening I'll give her a call if I'm feeling strong enough to be conversant.
