this is what i do:
i teach dance and art at 3 different locations around calgary.
I teach 3-16 year olds. I teach ballet, hip hop, drama, painting, drawing, animation and preschool fitness.
i manage a clothing store, hire and fire my staff deal with customers who are fucking rude all the time. I alone do the work that three previous managers used to do,
i have a degree.
i have four jobs and i cant pay my bills.
i live with my parents, becuase they cant let me go, nor can i afford to leave. i make art all the time,
i get rejected everywhere i go.
everytime i open the mail its another rejection letter.
jobs i apply for either dont want me or i cant take because im loyal and people con me into promising to stay. i work so hard on art aplications but it doesnt matter. and when i go to shows the work is disapointing and leaves me confused about who is making the rules and why.
the latest gallery regection gave me a one year membership as consilation. so i can go look at art that is supposedly better than mine?
or so i can learn from real artists what is art.
my next project im going to buy those fake bullet stickers and stick them to silver buckets that i will buy at canadian tire.
why?
because that is the kind of art that gets into galleries.
i wish i had a better answer than: the commitee was impressed with your submision but we do not have the space to accomodate all that applied.
i wish they had said "what were you thinking? we have a reputation to maintain and your submission embarassed us and made us feel like the time we spent discussing your artwork could have better been spent cleaning our office toilet"
that atleast i can work with.

im not mad i didnt get into the show, even though it cost me over 200$,
im pissed off that i have no money, and i have 4 jobs. and that every message on my answering machine is for a collection agency of some sort.
this cheered me up

I remember when you use to put shoes on your site- I bought a pair the other day that were SOOOOO incredibly rad. I have a ton of fun shoes- but these are the cats meow. I'll have to take a pic with the quick cam- if it wasn't full- I'd do it now. They are the cutest mary Janes- n I have five different pairs of Mary Janes plus a grip of oldy granny shoes with chunky hills n fun tennies. (tons) way to many!
I just let a fifth grader borrow a pair of my really cute hightop converse with the pink bottoms and the black canvas with the stripe of pink around the rim of the rubber sole. I also put skull n cross bones shoe laces in them but the skulls had hot pink bows on their heads.
I have to go get ready to go because we are meeting a buncha friends at Joes Celler to play free pool.
N- Crazy is kind of an understatement for me.
