It's another week and another homework blog! I'm kinda impressed with myself at my consistency recently lol
SO this week my Frequently Asked Questions and their Answers! These are definitely questions I've been asked a lot in my life so here goes!
1. How many tattoos do you have? usually followed by did they hurt? and how much did you spend? who did them?
This is an overall tattoo question lets be honest and I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets these. So here's the answer!
I don't know? haha some tattoos became apart of other tattoos.. some of mine like the bows on the back of my legs were a set or pair that I consider to be one piece but obviously there is 2 separate tattoos on each leg. so It' hard to say how many I have! I don't know how many hours they all took together.. I know my back was 18 hours at least. Most of mine were done by Melanie Milne and a couple by Rhi Rusty. Of course they bloody hurt and asking how much anything cost an be rude and honestly I don't know that either haha a poor answer I know but someone who has a lot of tattoos would answer the same.
2. How long have you been modelling for?
Well I started when I was 19 and now I'm 30 so damn well over a decade! I started with pinup and artist nude that was mostly posted on Deviant Art (is that still a thing?) and Model Mayhem.. I started here on SG in 2012 I believe? or that's when I did my first shoot anyway. So a long time! The height of my modelling was before things like OnlyFans, it was all IG, networking and yeah Model Mayhem. Probably why I haven't gotten into the whole Only Fans thing. It's so foreign to me!
3. Where did you get your name from?
My name Cherry Buttonz is quite 1950's pinup themed.. being into the style from the age of 14/15 I was obsessed in particular with cherries. I had already decided at 14 that my first tattoos were going to be a set of cherries on my lower hips which I do have. I was also obsessed with collecting buttons and doing art with buttons. or even just putting my hands into big bowls of buttons haha. my name originally had the title 'miss' in front of it which was very pinup pageant of me. I dropped it once I became more heavily into tattoo and nude modelling. As well as changing the 's' at the end with a 'z' to toughen it up a bit haha. I could never change it though it is very much a part of who I am as a person!
4. Where are you from?
Well I was born in the state of Tasmania in Australia but now live in Sydney, N ew South Wales. Heritage wise my mom was born in England to English and Welsh parents. Whereas my dad while Australian, his family came to Australia originally as immigrants from Scandinavia. There is potentially some Viking background there but I honestly don't know enough.
5. What do you do?
This is such a vague question but I feel like when you meet anyone new this is one of the first questions you'll get asked or even as someone yourself. What they're really asking is, 'What do you do for money?/ a living?" I have done a lot of different jobs in my time. I have a Bachelor of Dance, a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and a Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal. Right now I am a laser technician and dermal skin therapist. Probably the most stable secure job I've ever had. I dot do retail anymore, no hospitality, or stripping, or even modelling really. I haven't been paid for it in years. I do really much love what I do these days!
