When I was a little Vinci, I lived in Texas. I can remember that the grass was always green and full, and thick. One time i can recall bundling up to rake leaves in the fall. It accually got chilly out. Now this is way down in McAllen TX. For those of you who didn't pay attention in geography, this is located at the most southern tip of that big bastard of a state. To the East of it you will find the beautiful South Padre Island. Anywho...mom divorced and remarried to my little brother's dad, who was from Wisconsin.

Stepping out of the plain, I could feel the cold from the outside. Once we walked out of the airport, It was amazing! I had never seen snow before in my life! We spent a year in Appleton. Menasha to be precise, where i attended Banta Elementry. That year we had probly the biggest blizzard I've ever seen or been in. My mom's car got snowed in! Right in the middle of the apartment complex driveway. Totally covered! Just tons of snow everywhere.

3rd grade at Edgerton elementry. 7 years in the Whitnall school district. During those 7 years, at least in the begining, the winters were full and what every christmas should look like. Or at least how they portray it in all those christmas movies we all grew up watching. Like that one with the kid with the glasses and that fucking lamp. Anywho...the snow, right? Full! Just like the grass back in TX.

About 3-4 years ago my then girlfriend, Ashley, and I drove down to visit the very little family I have in TX. While we were there my uncle took us to the houses and apartments that i grew up in. One of the first things I noticed was the grass. Followed shortly by the weather. It wasn't like i had remembered it. The grass was dead. If not dead, then it was gone. Patches of dirt. Patches of yellow. The only green grass I ever saw belonged to those brand spanking new houses that went up. Freshly layed grass that, by now, is probly already dead. All because of the weather. It was hot as fuck! It was muggy as fuck! It was sweaty as fuck! I mean it seemed like everyone walked around with a layer of sweat on their faces. Ridiculous.

Lately, or over the past few years, I've noticed that the winters here have been getting more mild then the next. I fucking hate Wisconsin! If you guys remember, yesterday it was in the 50's! And SUNNY! I was on my way to work and i had my window up so it intensified the heat. I thought, my god what is this sensation on my arm? Sweet lord it's warmth! Then today on my way to work, it was cold as fuck! it was cloudy as fuck! it was snow/rainy as fuck! What the fuck!?!

I guess the whole point of this little story is, and kudos to those of you who stuck through it, when and if I ever move to Portland i'll know what the weather will be like everyday. Cloudy and rainy. Which I'm totally fine with. The weather here is so choatic, it's driving me insane in the membrane. Kinda like that song. Yeah you know the one. This world is going to shit. It's the middle of winter and it was sunny and in the 50's the other day. I just don't get it. Maybe all those prophets and thier CRAZY predictions about the world ending or changing will come true in our lifetime. Floods and earthquakes! The polar ice caps melting from the greenhouse effect. I don't know. Whatever. Rabble rabble on and on.

...or maybe I'm just losing my sex appeal.

-Long live Romulox.

It's proven that lack of sun is a cause of depression, or at least a form of it. During the Winter, the sun is less present, and typically not here long enough to evaporate the cool, damp air in the skies that blocks the sunlight to begin with. When you are exposed to direct sunlight, your body produces Ceretonin, which make you feel more optimistic. A lack of Ceretonin would do just the opposite. It explains why most people up here dislike Winter.

Also, At the Drive-In had a big single back in '00 called "One Armed Scissor". The sound is like screamo, but before there was such this.

Is there anyway to reply to cmments without having to go to your page and replying in your journal?
