The Chromatics receive a stay of execution based solely on delivering a good cover of "Running up that hill." Worthy enough of getting a mention in the previous post, but ultimately being neglected by Placebo ... who I think ultimately deserve it more because they always have struck me as emo - before emo was emo.

Lisa dropped a sexy video of her hooping. This video consumes most of my time these days (I have the director's cut).

Round 2 of our game:

Find for me a song that you loved from your childhood. Something inalienable. Something personal perhaps. Then find me the handbag house* version of that song. Something you would hear at the gym or on a cruise ship. As always I will show you how it's done. You simply need to follow suit.

A type of House music. Handbag house consists of the obligatory disco diva lyrics, simple four-on-the-floor TR-909 kick drums, hi-hats on the upbeats, Basic synth stabs in a minor key, and sometimes a snare on beats two and four. Videos often feature the singer in a leather costume dancing around while a sculpted bald black man gyrates his hips whilst also attempting to look threatening. Its name comes from the phenomenon of a group of women dancing around a pile of their handbags.
