The Sound of the Ocean

Dragging the boat through the sand
seemed harder
in my pink bathing suit
I fell entirely into a crab hole
terrified
of the crab so large, it could make such a hole
I dangled at the end of my boat, out of my element, no one to help
me, but a sea shell
who merely recorded my screams
and played them back
later
to surprised listeners
