So, out of sheer necessity...and with much hesitation...I have finally conceded to install Windows XP Professional SP2 on my home system.
Even as an MCSE (not in XP)...every new version of Windows makes me hate Microsoft even more as they strive to hide tools deeper and deeper into the black abyss of protections and useless interfaces.
Can anyone explain to me why Microsoft considers it necessary to constantly assume all users are a hazard to themselves and must be protected from taking any actions on their computers.

Windows: I see you have administrative rights on your machine. This can be very dangerous. Are you sure you would like to login?

Windows: Hmmm. Im not sure. Wouldnt you really prefer to change your user rights to Regular user? It really would be better for both of us.

Windows: <Please wait. Checking internet connection.> You knowyouve only logged about 5000 hours on the different Windows operating systems since 1985. I really think you should stay as a regular user. Lets take care of that now.
