Sometimes the box of reality seems to push its muffling walls close to my head, forcing me to notice the slaughterhouse ramp on which we all live. All in line one by one moving ever closer to the man with the sledgehammer, that wet thud and then they cut you up for what they can use. Footsteps down busy city streets, the row-homes seem almost like wooden fences that I cant reason how to get out of. More footsteps and herds of cattle graze consumer machine to be excreted into paychecks. As I watch the idea of being a cattle farmer seems almost repugnant, that I would have to have any contact with these pink weak bison and their bile. If your life is to control then, are you not ruled by those you rule? I watch more as they wander into stores to buy products that are all alike, each thinking that they are making a unique purchase suited to their particular tastes, yet they all appear the same. My feet take me to the subway, at rush-hour a cruel allegory for a truck bound for the slaughterhouse, all packed in close and sweaty, just an inch away from urinating on each other and dying from heat exhaustion.

Home is a concrete box with nice paint and carpet on the inside, mostly empty as I dont require much to exist, function is the key. My sleeping quarters contains a bed, so I can sleep, books, so I may read, a computer, so I may read, a stereo, so I may listen to music on occasion to keep me sane, a box with drawers, so I may store my flesh coverings and warm myself with them when needed.

Upstairs the television is on, bringing its viewer closer to bovine existence. Its all there, how to live your life with full sound and demonstration provided by your local broadcasting company. Choose a character they are all there, The Man or Woman of many different styles, The Father The Husband, The Mother The Wife, The Child, The Student, The Friend, The Employee, there are very many, and all tailored so that you can become a stereotype of your choice. Want to know how to be cool? Pick up women? Forget really living, who needs the burden of experience and learning from it? All that pain, completely unnecessary, just turn on your handy cathode ray tub and learn. Ignore the wooden fence around you and that wet thudding noise, what really matters is that we all keep up the faade and dont forget a line. If you dont appear like all the other cows in the herd you might notice the fence and the rhythmic thud at the end of the line; and if you pay real close attention, ignore the commotion of the other cows busying themselves, you might notice that the man with the sledge looks familiar and seems to be smiling a wide toothy smile.
