Artistic Rambles....
first day off that i can really say holy shit im going to do something. well i went to artwalk 2005!!!
fuck yeas i had a blast, i mean i really just wanted to sloth and do nothing. however bangs convinced me to go, i mean why would i want to miss out on great work of art. photographers, artist, musicians... and every diversity you can thing of in the entierity and profoundness of the word "ART," was there.
i was there, as an observer. i wanted to see what new photographers have new work out. my competion and my fellow insperation.
all in one day i intook the weather, the view of little italy, the people walking around, not the food, and most of all, the music being played live.
what great people i see making history in our town.
what new art will emerge out of san diego, what new sense will we use to get the symbolism out of a picture, out of a drawing, out of words writen on canvas. Was it all a huge mirage? was the colour too much for my senses. was i working over time and debating wiether or not i wanted to see more, wanted to listen to more.
i walked and did more then i bargined for. but it was done in good times.
after that. Drum and bass...
we (meaing me and bangs) went to see Peligro spin, we smoked bowls and drank before getting there, and there was an artwalk of my own kind, kids all about the same age. taking in the beats of the dj spinning drum and jungle. with 4 local artist all showing their new art and thier new style of insperation to the new world.
how can one day alone have so much influence in one person. that was all done in about 6 hours.
when i got home, there they were my canvas, all white with a bit of pencil on them. outlines of what could have been a drawing before. i grabbed all my paints and began working on what would be "gunsmoke" "drunk scene" and "porn god" my three new paintings. thats the new stuff.....
