It is retarded.... I really don't understand why bands that travel to third world countries charge so much money for tickets... yes, I know it's all about profits in the music industry, but c'mon!
For the past 5 years I have been going to shows in Monterrey Mexico and in the state of Texas... Checkout this list:
Morrissey - Mty: $70 Texas: $30
Job For A Cowboy- Mty: $35 Texas: $12
Mastodon - Mty: $50 / Texas (with dethklok, High on Fire, etc): $35
Green Day - Mty: $65
In Flames - Mty: $50 / Texas: $20 (with a whole bunch of bands)
and I could go on and on... just a couple of days ago I got tickets for Faith No More... crazy... I'm paying close to $80 per ticket...
I understand if you are Bob Dylan, Madona, Pink Floyd, Metallica (Master of profits), etc... but when you are Deicide, the Black Dhalia Murder, Exodus??????
I know that this will not change unless suckers like me keep on paying those outrageous prices... but the reality is that if people stopped going to the shows the bands/promoters will not change their ways... they would just play more often in shitty towns in the US... because at the end of the day most of them are not doing it for the music... much less for "the fans"... it's all about the fucking money.
