last night was a crazy night at work.
get there and had to setup the parking lot for the truck that comes every monday night. im still amazed how that big rig manages to fit in that tight little spot next to the ER and not hit the overhang. so i am outside setting up the lot, and getting cars moved, the whole time freezing my balls off cuz it was 18 degrees out and windy here. brrr.
so the truck shows up and we get it all set up. no big whoop, tis the same routine every week.
i go into the ER and its kinda busy but didnt seem so bad. thruout the night it just keeps getting worse. we had a spanish lady come in and basically give birth right infront of me cuz she couldnt keep it in any longer. ewww, babys may be nice and all, but they fucking look like aliens when they come out and are all grey and shit. Llona can back me up on that i bet. so she basically had ber baby right there, then got carted up to L&D afterwards cuz she probably woulda dropped the kid in the elevator is she didnt do it in the ER. a lil bit after that, we get about 5 ambulances in within 5 mins. one was a trauma code yellow from a rolled over vehicle, one was a chest pain, and another one was some sort of old lady with an infection in her navel. that was the nastiest thing ive ever seen or smelled.
seriously, how can someone let themselves get to the point where their navel looks like a serving bowl with guacamole in it? wouldnt you fucking think they would go in after the FIRST SIGNS of shit like that and not let it get worse? omg that thing fucking reaked. that stank up the ER really bad. we had no choice but to prop open the doors, and suffer the cold air blasting in just to keep the stench at bay. la de daa. so yeah. that was some of my night. im not going to go into the rest of the details but it was a crazy night. the only thing im glad i didnt have to deal with was a bunch of drunks.
now here i am, sitting at home. alone. watching the puppy sleep on my bed, and listening to the radio. ill be sitting here till probably 3pm cuz ive got nothing better to do. then ill go to sleep and wake up at 11pm only to redo everything i just did the previous day. i need to start doing stuff. i need some local friends. this routine of eat sleep and work just blows. thats why i do love SGNY parties even if my face doesnt always show it. it gives me a chance to get out of the routine im stuck in for 5 days.
