When your job creeps you out...

So I've been doing some translation/proofing work for a company here in the Czech Republic who are selling these all over print t-shirts. you've probably seen a few, like the giant dog faces like the pug top. They're made by a company called the Mountain.

Now, this is all fine. A bit weird, but whatever, they're funny tops. I might not spend 800c on one, but I can see the appeal.

BUT, and there is always a but in this job. ONE t-shirt has crept me the fuck out.

This little dickhead.

For those who don't know, this is the little clapping monkey toy from some sick fuckers demented mind. It actually used to be a children's toy, but the soaring cost of therapy sessions has lead to parents not buying it any more. It's now more famous as one of the bad guys from Toy Story 3, and now as a jury rigged alarm system from Fallout 4.

It started off easy enough, I clicked on the product to see it and double check everything. Once the page loaded, i happened to be over the zoom in button. So MAYBE I jumped and screamed when this face popped up full screen on just the face.

Since then, it's been following me. and its getting worse. Monkey boy here popped up on an advert on youtube, mixed in amongst the polo tops and jeans in a company advert to the bottom right of the screen. a couple of days later it was on every. single. youtube advert there. It then migrated to the pop up advert in the videos themselves. Then the company had a whole 30 second video advert which included this top.

I haven't watched youtube for 3 days.

It's followed me to other sites too though. random adverts on sidebars. I got a spam email and it was on there too.

I went out for lunch and there was a rusty old cymbal monkey toy in the window of a 2nd hand shop.

Its beady little eyes followed me as I walked past. I walked a different route home.

Now theres a shop opposite the bakers that has started selling these tops.

I'm freaking the fuck out whenever I leave my apartment. Thank god I work from home.

I fucking hate monkeys and cymbals.
