I enjoy helping people. It’s what I do best. My real-world job is retail management at a fun gifting store, so I guess you could say I get paid to help people 😅
In recent times - what with everyone going into isolation - I’ve been unable to work. This has made life a little more difficult, especially because I no longer actively get to do something I enjoy every day; helping people.
What I have been doing though, is actively trying to improve my interactions with people I see (though this is limited of course). Actively smiling, engaging in conversation more with strangers, and being polite and understanding to retail workers especially during these tough times.
Though things seem awful and strange, kindness is important more now than ever. People are feeling scared or overwhelmed, so sometimes all they need help with is feeling cared and appreciated for.
