Homework: Who is your hero?

First of all, I would like to thank @missy and @rambo for led me to think about it.

When I recognized who is actually my hero, I thought to change it for not looking too childish or immature. But then I thought that I really want to share my ideas with you.

My hero is my father. (Even if he still doesn't know about my presence here xD)

Let me explain you why:

My father went through a skin cancer something like 20 years ago. Can you imagine what would mean to have a skin cancer in 1995? How were medicine and hospitals here in Italy, 20 years ago? But he and his doctor won, and my dad is still alive and healthy. I could not ask for more.

And do you know why my dad had such a bad skin cancer?
He saw a skin nevus on his arm growing as it should not do, but he was too busy building his factory, to maintain me, my mother and my (at those times little) brother. So he decided that HE HAD NO TIME TO GO VISIT A DOCTOR. When my mom forced him it was already too late and now my dad has a total white part on his chest, because I don't know how, but they had to remove his melanin from there. He also had removed his lymph nodes from his armpits and, of course, that nevus.

Now he does yearly checks, and everything is absolutely fine. I thank medicine every day for this miracle (no, I don't believe in God)

But it's not everything about him: as I said, he has built his own factory, so he was working in someone else's while making his own, and the result was that he was leaving home at 5/6 am for coming back after midnight. All this to maintain his family.

Now, he works as a laboratory teacher in a school during the morning, and in the afternoon/evening (often until 11 pm) he is working in his factory, which produces welding machines among the best, in terms of quality.

He never said "no" to me or my brother, when we had an even little need, he always brought a little present for us all when he was back from a job travel and he has been so present in our lives, that I cannot even imagine how he managed this.

So, yes, my personal hero is my father, who showed me how a real worker and parent should be.

Here is us, 2 year ago, having dinner in a German pub after a day in a welding fair. (Sorry for the bad quality, it was so dark in there!!)
