I went Christmas shopping in Portland Maine's Old Port district this afternoon, with my sisters. At one point, I was leaning up against a street sign on the corner of Exchange Street, waiting for my sisters to finish shopping for my presents, when I heard someone singing. I turned around to see who it was. This girl who looked like a cross between Kate Winslet and Veruca Salt from Willie Wonka, ran across the street, straight toward me. We made eye contact.
"Hey now," she said, in an unbelievable British accent "It's dangerous out here, love."
I smiled, and shook my head, thinking 'dont worry about me, I'm a big boy'
As if in response to that, she winked and said "A pretty young boy like you on the corner, a shame. Some dangerous thing like me might come along and pick you up."
She then darted across the street again, and ran into Gritty McDuff's.
I dont know if she heard me say "Danger is my middle name."
Why don't more hot British hipster girls who look like Kate Hudson and Veruca Salt use lines like that on me? I probably should have followed her into the bar, but I was waiting on my sisters.
